Infrastructure Engineer - 3 Month Contract - Northampton or Yorkshire (2 days a week on site)

Rate: £400 to £500/day

We're looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to support and maintain a critical on premise infrastructure environment. This position is ideal for someone with strong expertise across VMware, backup technologies and storage solutions, with the confidence to operate in a busy, production focused setting.

This role is a hybrid position (2 days a week in the office) and can be based out of Northampton or Yorkshire

You'll take ownership of BAU activities while also contributing to projects and Back End infrastructure initiatives.

Required Experience

• Strong hands on experience administering and supporting Windows Server (2016-2022)
• Solid knowledge of VMware vSphere/ESXi in enterprise environments
• Practical experience with SAN storage and zoning (SAN/Dell PowerStore)
• Proven background working with backup technologies and recovery operations (Dell PPDM)
• Comfortable working in an on prem, change driven environment handling BAU support

Key Responsibilities

• Support, administer and maintain Windows Server environments up to Server 2022
• Manage and optimise VMware virtual infrastructure, including ESXi hosts
• Configure and maintain storage zoning to ensure correct connectivity (SAN/Dell PowerStore)
• Administer, monitor and troubleshoot backup and recovery solutions (Dell PPDM)
• Provide day to day infrastructure support, maintenance and fault resolution
• Contribute to platform improvements, upgrades and best practice initiatives
• Deliver 3rd line support and act as a technical escalation point
