Job Title: Application Tester
Location: Cardiff, Wales (Hybrid) - Must be based in the Cardiff area
Day Rate: £300 - £350 (Inside IR35)
Job Type: 6 months

We are supporting a large-scale Cloud Transition Programme running from 2026 to 2028, delivering the migration of 90+ nationally critical health applications from on-premise datacentres into Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud environments.

We are looking for experienced Application Testers to support multiple migration waves, ensuring applications remain safe, stable, and fit for purpose throughout the transition.

The Role

You will work closely with application subject matter experts, suppliers, and delivery teams to plan and execute application-level testing. The role focuses on assuring quality, functionality, and clinical safety considerations during cloud migration activities.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

• Application-level test scripts and completed test cycles per migration wave
• Documented defects, retest evidence, and defect closure
• Contributions to test summary reports and traceability matrices

Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Proven experience testing healthcare or regulated public sector applications
• Strong functional testing capability, including regression, workflow, and integration testing
• Experience working with application SMEs and third-party suppliers to design effective test scenarios
• Experience preparing and executing test scripts, test data, and test scenarios for application-level testing
• Strong defect management, documentation, and communication skills

Desirable Skills/Experience
Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:

• Experience testing cloud-hosted applications, particularly in Microsoft Azure
• Awareness of clinical safety standards (eg DCB0160/DCB0129)
• Experience contributing to multi-team, multi-wave migration programmes
