DevOps/DevSecOps Consultant

AppCheck, SDLC, ISO 27001

Remote with occasional travel to Leeds/Newcastle

£450-£500pd outside IR35

A managed IT service provider is looking for an experienced DevOps/DevSecOps Consultant to work for an end client in the energy/utilities sector. This is a deliverables-based contract, involving reviewing current testing practices and policies, as well as optimising deployment process of the AppCheck Security tool. Previous experience in a regulated environment is essential.

Key Deliverables:

  1. Conduct a comprehensive assessment of existing development activities, identifying and evaluating any associated risks.
  2. Develop and/or update existing development and testing policies, processes, and guidance, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
  3. Produce an SDLC/STLC implementation plan, including prioritization, resource estimates, and timelines.
  4. Review our existing application security tool, AppCheck, analysing its deployment breakdown and maximizing its utilization in development pipelines.

Experience:

  • Strong understanding of the entire SDLC/STLC flow.
  • Familiarity with the benefits and challenges of cloud-based architecture.
  • Proficiency in process automation, recognizing its advantages and potential pitfalls.
  • Experience operating within regulated environments such as health, insurance, or banking, with awareness of ISO 27001/9001 standards.

Desirable:

  • Experience or familiarity with .NET development.

£450-£500 per day outside IR35

Remote with occasional travel to Leeds/Newcastle
