Lead Application Support Engineer - Hybrid (Permanent)

Location: Newton-Le-Willows Country: UK Rate: £55k - £58k per annum + Car allowance, bonus
 

Our client is seeking a Lead Application Support Engineer to take the helm of designing and managing top-tier application solutions. This role places you at the forefront of both on-premise and cloud-based applications, ensuring adherence to stringent cyber security standards. You will shape and manage an efficient Application Support Team, providing comprehensive reports on team performance while ensuring optimal application availability within set financial parameters.

Salary: up to £58,000 + Car Allowance

Location: Newton-Le-Willows (Hybrid 2-3 days onsite per week)

Our client is seeking a Lead Application Support Engineer to take the helm of designing and managing top-tier application solutions. This role places you at the forefront of both on-premise and cloud-based applications, ensuring adherence to stringent cyber security standards. You will shape and manage an efficient Application Support Team, providing comprehensive reports on team performance while ensuring optimal application availability within set financial parameters. Additionally, you will propose, define, and manage plans for regular updates and upgrades to application software.

What you'll do:

As a Lead Application Support Engineer, your role will be pivotal in managing both on-premise and cloud-based applications. You will ensure that all applications are available and performing optimally within set financial parameters. Your leadership skills will be utilised in shaping an efficient Application Support Team, defining support models, operational processes for new services developed, as well as managing any escalations linked to them. You will also be responsible for proposing, defining, and managing plans for regular updates and upgrades to application software.

. Manage and maintain cloud-based applications

. Ensure adherence to information security, corporate governance, policies and standards

. Work closely with the Head of IT Services to support develop and deliver IT strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives

. Act as the technical lead for the on-premise and cloud application estate

. Manage the Application Support Team, helping to define the support model and operational processes of new services developed

. Provide accurate reporting on the performance of the Application Support team

. Ensure the availability and performance of the on-premise and cloud application estate meets business needs whilst delivering within financial budgets

. Propose, define, and manage plans to update and upgrade application software across the estate regularly

Your experience extends to supporting the design of best in breed application solutions and ensuring that applications adhere to expected levels of cyber security.
