IT Systems Support Technician

Location: Stockton-on-Tees

Salary: £30,000/£35,000

The Opportunity:

Join our team as an IT Systems Support Technician, where you'll play a pivotal role in configuring, maintaining and documenting our clients backup, disaster recovery, and security solutions, ensuring the resilience and security of our clients digital infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage comprehensive backup solutions to protect critical data across various platforms and environments.
  • Develop and document recovery procedures to ensure a swift and effective response in the event of data loss, system outages, or security incidents.
  • Conduct regular testing and validation of recovery procedures to identify and address potential weaknesses.
  • Assist in the identification, containment, and recovery from security incidents impacting data availability.
  • Implement monitoring systems to detect issues with backup processes and ensure timely resolution.
  • Ensure that backup and recovery processes comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and organizational security policies.
  • Conduct periodic security assessments to identify and address vulnerabilities in backup systems.
  • Handle DR and data recovery situations.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for backup and recovery procedures, configurations, and policies.
  • Install, manage and patch Firewall and network protection systems/hardware.
  • Ensure all client systems are fully protected with Antivirus software.
  • Ensure all Servers and workstations are fully updated/patched as required.
  • Work with RMM tool to monitor Servers and workstations in areas of interest.
  • Produce reports on areas of interest to clients and management when required.

Required Skills and knowledge required:

  • Experience configuring and maintaining Veeam Backup and Recovery
  • Experience of managing Anti-virus products and endpoint security products.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems with a strong technical foundation.
  • Extensive knowledge of server operating systems and technologies, such as Microsoft Server, DHCP, and DNS, to ensure seamless network operations.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 is essential.
  • Hands-on experience with Routers, Switches, and Firewalls, enabling effective troubleshooting and network management.
  • Excellent timekeeping and communication skills, essential for efficient coordination and seamless collaboration with colleagues and clients.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure, maintaining composure and delivering optimal results in challenging situations.
  • A passion for continuous learning, with a drive to expand your IT knowledge and qualifications.
  • Exceptional customer-facing support skills, ensuring client satisfaction and building strong relationships.
  • Possession of a full driving license, as the role requires travel to client locations.

Certifications, qualifications and experience required:

Industry certifications from Microsoft/Cisco/CompTIA would be an advantage. Experience in a similar role is essential.

The Package:

The successful candidate will receive a salary of between £30,000-£35,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
