Senior Content Designer - Central Government (Contract)

Location: Remote/Onsite  Country: UK Rate: £550/day Inside IR35
 

I am actively recruiting for a Senior Content Designer to start a 6 month contract with a leading Central Government organisation. The role is inside IR35 paying up to £550/day and split between remote working and onsite in London. BPSS is required for this position.

Central Government experience is essential for this position.

As part of a multidisciplinary agile team, you will work with the Senior Content Designer and Senior User Researcher to update and improve the current framework. The framework describes the roles and skills people need to progress their careers within Government. The team continues to work with communities of practice and expert working groups to ensure the content about roles and skills is as up to date and as usable as possible.

You will be involved with the first AI roles being added to the framework and to work on a dynamic capability team delivering a truly user-centred, co-created framework that is updated more often than others.

You will:

1 - Work with subject matter experts to create or update content for roles and skills:

  • draft content based on research findings, input from subject matter experts, and the framework design principles
  • pair-write and fact check content with subject matter experts
  • prepare content for user testing and the publishing database
  • work with the senior content designer to assure the quality of content

2 - Support with iterative improvements to the framework and its content strategy:

  • engage the Digital community in government to identify, draft and test improvements to the skills catalogue content and framework design (such as merging duplicate skills)
  • create materials needed for user research and observe user research sessions
  • help develop the approach for sourcing content input from subject matter experts
  • make recommendations on the product's taxonomy design and information architecture
  • explore others ways to help the framework's content better meet the needs of the users
