QA Tester (Website overhaul) (Contract)

Location: Remote Country: Italy Rate: €500 to €550 per day

Remote work - 30 days initial contract - May 2024 start

My client is a UN Agency and their website is the first touch point for anyone interested in the organisation.

The business is updating the existing website to create:-

  • A refreshed look and feel through a more modern, cleaner, and appealing design.
  • An enhanced capacity to interact with target audiences through new storytelling.
  • A new user journey based on qualitative and quantitative data.

The QA Tester will be responsible for the quality assurance of the website by completing the following tasks:

  • Understand the website functional and design requirements.
  • Develop test plans, test scenarios, and write test scripts based on defined website requirements and designs.
  • Report and track bugs, defects and fixes
  • Validate the numerical and content quality of migrated content.
  • Support users' acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Execute test scripts to identify defects in the following areas:
    • Website usability.
    • Content searchability.
    • Website accessibility.
    • Webpages language switching and translation.
    • A/B testing - comparing old and new website.
    • Browsers compatibility.
    • Platform - desktop, mobile and tablet compatibility.

Required education and experience

  • At least three years of manual and automated testing experience
  • Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies.
  • Proficient in test methodologies and tooling, with relevant qualifications (eg, ISTQB Foundation)
  • Experience with TDD, BDD automation and Continuous Integration tools (Git).
  • Programming skills in JavaScript and Typescript.
  • Experience with test management tools like JIRA or TestRail.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks.
  • Proven experience in test execution, problem-solving, and documentation.

Desirable skills & experience

  • Skills in building CI/CD pipelines, including tools, operating systems, containerisation.
  • Experience with UI/UX and web Front End technologies.
  • Experience with REST API Testing tools
  • Experience of Agile (or agile/scrum/waterfall or hybrid) development practices and techniques
