Title: Project Manager, Value-Added Outsourced Products - 36470

Your Responsibilities

As the Project Manager for Value-Added Outsourced Products (VAO) at John Deere Electronic Solutions, located in Fargo, ND, you will manage outsourced programs and supply base throughout the production lifecycle (transfer to end of production). You will interact with manufacturing and customer teams on technical and process matters and organize interdepartmental activities to ensure completion of all programs are on schedule and within budget. In addition you will:

  • Support efforts to manage and/or develop a global Value Added Outsource supply chain capable of delivering highly complex and highly technical assemblies to JDES on time and of high quality.
  • Lead supply management activities for Value Added Outsourced products; including activities such as product transfers, product and process cost management/reductions, process change requests and program lifecycle management
  • Act as program manager for activities related to transfer of value-added products, including: facilitating cross-functional team meetings to support transfers, product change requests, weekly supplier meetings and others (as required) ; provide ongoing progress reports of project timeline and goals to key stakeholders and management staff.
  • Support activities that ensure appropriate Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Design For Manufacturing (DFM), process improvement and change analysis are conducted; work closely with suppliers relative to Achieving Excellence improvement plans and resolution of Corrective Action Requests.
  • Perform and facilitate assessment of assigned supplier(s) key processes and business systems to ensure compliance with JDES processes criteria to ensure uniformity across teams and suppliers; coordinate communications with supply base and internal JDES teams relative to products.
  • Participate in the project planning process of new products and/or major improvement to existing value-added outsourced products.

What Skills You Need

  • Two or more years of experience in an electronics manufacturing environment in an Supply Management, Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Engineer, Design Engineer or Project management role.
  • Experience in roles that required demonstration of strong analytical skills relative to complex analytical problems and effective resolution skills.
  • Experience in roles that required demonstration of a high level of attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.

What Makes You Stand Out

Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team include:

  • Project management experience working with suppliers in an electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with an Order Fulfillment Process (OFP) and/or Product Delivery Process (PDP).
  • Experience in roles that required demonstration of a strong working knowledge of a Configuration Management System (such as: Agile).
  • Experience working in a global team environment.

Education

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent work experience in the following:

  • Bachelors of Arts/Science in a Business/Management, Engineering, Supply Management or other relevant discipline with relevant work experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) training or certification, desired.
